Sikhlens Toronto Canada recently delivered its 5th Arts & Film Festival in Brampton, bringing together arts, culture, and heritage to inspire connection and meaningful dialogue across communities.

Nearly 900 attendees of all ages and backgrounds from across North America gathered at the Lester B. Pearson Theatre for a full day of films, documentaries, animation, and live performance.

The festival offered:

We’re excited to welcome you to this amazing upcoming event! Please note that tickets are unreserved and not numbered. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The auditorium will be divided into three key areas. Sponsors area, 4 Rows of VIP tickets (SOLD OUT) closer to the front of the stage, while the rest of the rows provide standard seating for attendees.

Sikhlens Canada 2024

On Sept 28, 2024, Sikhlens Canada presented its 4th annual Film Festival in Brampton, continuing its commitment to celebrating arts, culture, and community storytelling.

Hosted at the Cyril Clarke Theatre, the day-long festival welcomed several hundred attendees for a dynamic programme of films, talks, Q&A sessions, live performance and arts stalls. Live music and meaningful networking opportunities enriched the experience, fostering connection, reflection, and dialogue across communities.

The 2024 festival built on the momentum of previous years, reinforcing Sikhlens’ growing presence in Canada and its dedication to powerful, community-rooted storytelling through art and film.

Sikhlens Canada 2021-2023

Sikhlens Toronto Canada presented its Arts & Film Festival virtually in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continued access to arts, culture, and heritage programming during a period of global uncertainty.

Through online screenings, panel discussions, and artist talks, audiences from across Canada, the United States, and beyond were able to engage with curated films and conversations that fostered connection, reflection, and cultural exchange.

The virtual festivals featured:

Guru Nanak Tapestry

Christ Church, Leicester

The Guru Nanak Tapestry event was a beautiful demonstration of art bringing people together. This community project, hosted at Christ Church in Leicester, fostered meaningful interfaith dialogue and showcased the power of working together.

Reverend Andrew Stuart welcomed Sikhlens guests and allowed us all to create an inclusive space where different communities could connect and learn from one another. The evening celebrated shared values and proved that collaborative efforts in art and culture are essential for building unity within communities.

Sikhlens UK film festival 2024

Phoenix Theatre, Leicester

2024 marked a significant milestone as Sikhlens UK successfully launched its first film festival in Leicester.

The day-long event attracted several hundred people who enjoyed films, talks, Q&As, and arts stalls. Enhanced by live music and valuable networking opportunities, the festival was a great success, laying the foundation for Sikhlens' future in the UK.

Sikhlens UK film festival 2023

Millennium Point, Birmingham

Sikhlens UK launched its landmark first film festival in the UK in partnership with Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha.

This pioneering event featured over 20 films, welcoming international guests and offering a vibrant day of stalls, arts, and live classical music performances.

The festival culminated in an evening conference on Forgiveness and Reconciliation, hosted by Mr Amrick Singh Ubhi DL with a distinguished panel including Dr Josef Boehle, Bhai Sahib Professor Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia OBE KSG, Imam Ibrahim Mogra and Dr Peter Rookes.
